Latrell Sprewell joined the New York Knicks in January of 1999 to quickly become one of the franchise’s all-time fan-favorites with an electric on-the-court style, treating the basket with a furious attack. After a six-year career with the Golden State Warriors that included three NBA All-Star berths and All-NBA Team and All Defensive Team nominations, the Milwaukee, WI native came to the Big Apple, with the heralded Marcus Camby, as the new, younger, faster Knicks. In five seasons in the Orange & Blue, Sprewell averaged 17.9 points in 351 regular season games, and also appeared in 41 playoff games to average 19.5 points. He led the team to an improbable run to the 1999 NBA Finals, as the Knicks became the first eighth-seeded team to reach the final round.
