Standing at 6’9” and hailing from New Jersey’s St. Patrick High School, Al Harrington was one of the first players to go straight from high school to the pros. He had only begun playing organized basketball 4 years before being drafted to the NBA. Selected in the first round of the 1998 NBA Draft, Harrington played 16 seasons in the league, for the Indiana Pacers, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards. He also spent a short stint with Fijian Sturgeons of the Chinese Basketball Association.

 Harrington spent two seasons (2008-2010) with the New York Knicks. In 140 games, Harrington averaged 19.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 32.7 minutes per game earning him the nickname “Al Buckets” before being traded to the Golden State Warriors.

Following retirement, Harrington continues to play in Ice Cube’s BIG3 tournament (3v3) and the Champions Basketball League (5v5). He served as co-captain for BIG3 team, Trilogy, which went undefeated (10-0) in the inaugural season, winning the first ever BIG3 championship. Harrington has now focused his time as a business entrepreneur.
